We are Muslims living in a world whose legal systems were not built on our deen. Some countries have civil inheritance laws that may affect how an Islamic will is recognised or enforced. We acknowledge this reality. It does not change our religious obligation to write a wasiyyah, but it may affect how enforceable certain provisions are in a civil court.
